The Energy Saving Trust advice centre North East regularly attend events throughout the region to raise public awareness about energy saving, giving advice and information about energy efficiency in the home.

Christ Church Primary School Eco Festival

3rd July 2009, 13.00pm - 16.00pm.

Christ Church Primary School, Kielder Terrace, North Shields, NE10 2AD.

Christ Church Primary School is encouraging the pupils to learn about protecting the environment. Come along and show your support at the Eco Festival. There will be a range of environmental organisations present on the day including The Energy Saving Trust where energy advisors will be on hand to offer free impartial energy saving advice.

Ryton Summer Festival

4th July 2009, 11.00am-17.00pm.

Silvermere Drive, Ryton, NE40 3HA.

Come along to this fun family event and day out where there will be a selection of stalls, fair rides, live music, food and refreshments available throughout the day. Energy Saving Trust advisors will also be there on the day offering free impartial domestic energy saving advice.

Raby Gala

04th July 2009, 10.30am - 05.00pm.

Raby Castle, Staindrop, Darlington, CO Durham, DL2 3AY.

Family Fun Day with display, entertainment and activities for the whole family. In the main arena there will be martial arts displays, brass bands, morris dancers and sword dancers. Our advisor will be providing practical and easy solutions to reduce your carbon footprint at home and on the road. Entry £10 per car including passengers.

Durham Miners Gala

11th July 2009 9.00am - 5.00pm.

Durham Racecourse, Boat House Bend, Co Durham.

This years sees the 125th anniversary of this annual event. Along with the traditional processions and speakers there will be entertainment for the whole family with various stalls, fairground, music and street theatre. The Advisors from the Energy Saving Trust will be giving advice on all aspects of saving energy and reducing your carbon emissions from in your home to how you drive, so why not pop and see them to see if you could be saving money and carbon.

Gresham Gala

12th July 2009, 12.00 noon - 16.00pm.

Ayresome Gardens, corner of Linthorpe & Parliament Road, Middlesbrough.

Run by 'the Friends of Ayresome Gardens' the ninth Gresham Gala will have everything from craft & information stalls, henna painters to a marching band & good food. Combined with stage shows "High School Holiday Musical" & the "Bollywood workshops" its the place to be! Plus Energy Saving Trust advisors will be on hand to provide you with all the information & practical tips you need to help save money & energy at home.

Otterburn Festival

18th and 19th July 2009, 10am - 4pm.

Otterburn Mill, Otterburn, NE19 1JT.

Come along and have a great day out for all the family in beautiful Northumberland. Vintage cars, buses, lorries, push bikes and steam engines along with side shows, local crafts and trade shows. Gateshead Flower Show

Friday 31st July - Sunday 2nd August 2009, 10am-5.30pm,

Gateshead Central Nursery, Whickham Highway, Lobley Hill, Gateshead, NE11 9RQ.

The fourth largest horticultural event in the country, the show will feature displays of hundreds of plants, flowers and shrubs. Visitors can expect to see fantastic displays, floral art, a huge craft fair, a continental market, children's activities, live entertainment plus lots of plants & garden extras. Our expert Energy Advisors will be there offering information and advice on energy saving at home including details on the latest grants and offers for home insulation measures, how to save money and fuel while driving and technologies which use solar and wind power. Good Food Day

Part of the National Trust's 'Food Glorious Food Lifestyle Campaign 2009' designed to inform, innovate and inspire visitors to eat local, seasonal produce. Ou advisors will be situated in the main marque giving advice on waste reduction and composting, along with practical advice and reducing the CO2 emissions from your home. Free Entry.

The Energy Saving Trust at Ikea

28th August 2009. 9.30am - 4.00pm.

Ikea, Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9XS.

Advisors from The Energy Saving Trust will be situated near the café providing energy saving advice to Ikea customers, why not speak to an Energy Advisor to find out about Energy Saving Recommended products.

Stockton Summer Show

Fri 29th - Mon 31st August 2009

Preston Park, Yarm Rd, Stockton-on-Tees

A four-day event with different daily themes are planned both for the arena and other attractions with Family Fun Friday, Saturday Pets & People Pageant, Wild West Shoot-out Sunday, Medieval Monday. This year we will see a visit by the ever popular Black Knights Royal Artillery Free Fall team. Plans for this year also include daily performances from the Festival Circus and Ridgeside Falconry, plus street theatre, horses, and Animal Displays on different days. There will also be a FREE Park 'n' Ride Service from Stockton Centre on Sunday and Monday. While you're there pop along and visit Brendan at the Energy Saving Trust stand to take a ride on the driving simulator to find out how you could save energy and money on your fuel bills.

South Shields Enviro Fayre

30th August 2009. 10.00am-17.00pm.

Bents Exhibition Park, Sea Road, South Shields.

Come along to South Tyneside¿s third Enviro fayre where you¿ll be able to find out about climate change, saving energy, renewable energy and a whole host of other environmental issues. The event will host a variety of different environmental organisations. The Energy Saving Trust will be available on the day offering free impartial advice on energy saving in your home, while you're driving and if you're interested in technologies that produce solar and wind power you can ask about them too!

Big Green Seaside Station Day

31st August 2009. 11.00am-17.00pm.

Tynemouth Metro Station, North Tyneside, NE30 4RE.

A range of stalls will be at the Big Green Seaside Station Day offering information and help on recycling and domestic waste, using water wisely, saving energy and much more. Energy Saving Trust Advisors will be there to provide advice on how to save energy in your home, how to drive in a way that you could save money and fuel and renewable energy technologies options such as solar and wind power.
