Innocent opts for recycled packaging

01 February 2008

Innocent, the smoothie manufacturer, is set to sell all of its products in 100 per cent recycled PET bottles in an effort to tackle climate change.

The company successfully trialled the sale of drinks in 100 per cent recycled plastic in September last year and now it has decided to sell all their products in such packaging.

Bottles will also be recyclable at the end of their lives and use 20 per cent less plastic than the original packaging.

Further to this, the move will see a 55 per cent reduction in the carbon footprint of the packaging.

To celebrate the move, the company has created a new logo, which is reminiscent of the recyclable symbol.

"We've always been a business that has taken our environmental impact seriously and this move to 100 per cent recycled content in our bottles is extremely exciting," said Jessica Sansom, the sustainability manger at Innocent.

Innocent produces as range of smoothies as well as flavoured spring water.
