Green car 'inspired by gold'
An environmentally-friendly new automobile takes its design from the hues of gold, it has emerged.
The Corvette Z06 E85 concept pace car is claimed by the Auto Channel to be one of the fastest cars on the market.
This boast is coupled with considerable sustainable credentials according to the report - the car uses renewable, crop-derived alternative fuel to power its super speeds.
Design-wise, a "unique" design combined the colour green - suggesting the car's environmentally-friendly aspects - with gold in a colour shifting paint scheme that alters depending on the light in and the angle from which it is viewed.
A blend of ethanol (85 per cent) and gasoline (15 per cent) comprises E85, which is said to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on gasoline.
The car is one of two automobiles unveiled by Chevrolet ahead of the Indy 500 competition.
Indy 500 is also known as the Indianapolis 500 race and is held annually.
