Installers and Consultants

To ensure that only quality renewable energy system design and installation takes place under SCHRI, there are requirements on installers according to the nature of the installation.

Where projects are of a household scale, installers will generally be required to be accredited in accordance with the requirements of the SCHRI household stream. Follow this link for more information on this process.

Where the household accreditation scheme is not applicable i.e. for larger or more detailed projects, the installer will be assessed for competence on a case-by-case basis. Installers must be able to demonstrate the necessary experience and the equipment they will use must be in line with current industry best practice.

Community groups eligible for feasibility funding will need to engage a renewable energy consultant. There is no set accreditation or approval system for feasibility consultants that operate under SCHRI. Consultants are assessed on a case-by-case basis, as part of the assessment of the overall project.
